Currency is a fast, minimal currency converter for iPhone and iPad that I design and build for travellers. Type an amount and see it converted instantly, with live exchange rates that also work offline.
It supports 293 currencies (170 fiat, 77 crypto, and 46 fictional), has a built-in calculator, scans prices with the camera, and finds any currency when you draw its symbol. It’s available in 52 languages, costs a one-time $3.99, and has no ads, subscriptions, or tracking. It runs on iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 or later.
Not at the moment. If you’re interested in an Android version, send me an email or reach out on Mastodon, Instagram, Threads, or X, and I’ll keep you updated on its progress.
Currency costs $3.99 in the US, or the equivalent App Store price in your region. It’s a one-time, upfront payment to download the app, with no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid extras. That single payment unlocks the app and every feature.
No. The one-time payment to download the app is the only payment, and it includes every feature. Pay once, own it forever.
Yes. Currency supports Family Sharing, so once you buy it, up to five family members can download it too, at no extra cost. Learn more about Family Sharing.
Yes. Currency stores the latest exchange rates on your device, so they’re always ready, even without a connection. Rates refresh automatically once you’re back online.
Currency gets its exchange rates from multiple sources, so they may be delayed by up to an hour. It refreshes them automatically every hour.
I base each fictional currency’s rate on whatever information I can find about its value compared to a real-world currency. When there’s none, I estimate it by comparing the cost of goods in its universe.
Yes. The converter has a built-in calculator. Type expressions like 150 + 20% or 49.99 × 3, and Currency works out the result and converts it, which is handy for adding up bills, working out tips, and splitting charges.
Tap the camera button and point your iPhone or iPad at a price tag, menu, receipt, or screen. Currency reads the number on your device and puts it straight into the converter.
Draw its symbol. A machine-learning model on your device recognizes the shape and suggests the matching currencies. You can also search by currency name, code, or country.
Currency supports 293 currencies: 170 fiat currencies, 77 cryptocurrencies, and 46 fictional currencies.

Currency also runs on Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 26 or later, and on Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26 or later. On both, it’s the iPad app running as is, which the App Store labels “Designed for iPad,” rather than a native Mac or visionOS app.
Yes, as the iPad app. Apple lets iPhone and iPad apps run unmodified on Macs with Apple silicon and on Apple Vision Pro, where the App Store labels them “Designed for iPad.” Currency runs this way on Macs with an M1 chip or later and macOS 26 or later, and on Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26 or later. It isn’t a native Mac or visionOS app, so it looks and works just as it does on iPad.
Yes. You can choose from nine app icons, each with a different currency symbol: the dollar, euro, pound, yen, won, rupee, franc, baht, and lira.
Yes. Add Currency to Control Center or to your Lock Screen to open it in a tap. On iPad, keyboard shortcuts make it even faster.
I design Currency for everyone. It supports VoiceOver, Bold Text, Larger Text, Increased Contrast, Reduced Motion, and Dark Appearance, as well as 52 languages and locales, including right-to-left languages. If you have a request, or there’s an accessibility accommodation you’d like Currency to support, please send me an email.
Apple handles all App Store purchases, so refunds are requested from Apple rather than from me.
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. Choose “I’d like to,” then “Request a refund,” pick a reason, select Currency, and submit. Apple reviews each request and lets you know the outcome by email.
None. I don’t collect, store, or share any of your data. Currency has no accounts, sign-ins, ads, analytics, or trackers, and its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.” You can read the full Privacy Policy.
